3 Oakland Police officers were shot and killed, with one still clinging to life. May God watch over their friends and families during this very difficult time.
Tragic event that made the sadness and anger about what happened to Jeff all too fresh again. Most definitely praying for the officers and the families they leave behind. Godspeed.
I am with OPD and have been in three shootings one where Officer James Williams who was next to me was shot and killed. I should not be here the officer on the other side of mewho was hit in the handcuffs by an AK47 round should not be here. I remember the day Jeffrey went down. The pain of another one and of remembering. I remember a year when Jeff's mom met us (The Police Unity Tour) at the memorial and gave me the best hug EVER thanking us and the reality of meeting Jeff's mom. I saw her recently and saw the toll this has taken. The trials are a whole other pain. Who knew. I lost four friends Sat it was almost five. I am touched it is acknowledged here. As a CSI the processing goes on for days. I thank you for the comfort. We can honor our heroes by carrying on for what is good and what is right. I wish you peace.
I know first hand how justice was delayed 8 years for Jeffrey, I'm glad the families in this recent tragedy won't have to be held up for 8 years or more seeking justice. My heart goes out to all the families for the loss of their loved one.
The OPD SWAT officers to took out that piece of garbage did the families of the fallen heroes a huge favor. They won't have to wait 8 years for justice like the Fontana family has had to, only to have their son's killer be declared insane and not eligible for the needle.
I really find it hard to believe that DeShawn Campbell was able to point a gun at an officer in the middle of the night, in the dark and kill Jeff with one shot.
Thanks to an incompetent DA who did not fight for the Fontana family, it's now open season on all of our fine police officers.
My question is this? Where was Mixon's parole officer while this piece of crap was allowed out on the streets?
God bless the Fontana family and the families of the OPD fallen heroes. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this most trying time.
I would like to make a comment to the last posted comment. 1. Campbell wasn't found insane, he was found "mildly mentally retarded". 2. Our DA fought extreamly hard to keep the death penalty on the table. He did a fantastic job, and it was the Judge who reversed her own ruling and ended up finding him "mildly mentally retarded". Its the "justice system" that continually lets down police officers.
The Oakland officers are very lucky they don't have to deal with justice system. God Bless them and their families.

To the person who wrote this, don't put blame on the parole officer. After Mixon failed to appear for his meetings, I'm sure the PO placed a parole hold on him, which is why he did what he did. Why don't you try to keep track of all the parolees that a PO has to handle and see if you can keep track of all the pieces of crap like Mixon. I think you should focus on all the liberals that allow pieces of crap like Mixon to be eligible for parole, and while he's out there he's assaulting and raping......
The laws of this land are many. They were designed to protect the victims and the good, but the liberals of the world have deemed it necessary to twist the laws to protect the criminals. Case in point: the accidental shooting of the suspect by a Bart police officer, will be in court and judicated much sooner than it will take to judicate this case. The same liberals allow criminals like Mixon out on bail or parole, when they should be behind bars or dead by electricity. The good people of this country need to band together and get the liberals out of the system and get people into the system that will inforce the laws designed to protect the good people.
Amen.

I prefer to call Campbell "newly-mentally retarded." What a crock of crap!
ReplyDeleteJustice delayed is not justice denied ... and sometimes karma doesn't work as quickly as we'd like, but it all comes out in the wash.
Strength to the Oakland officers' families. What a waste!
