Day 15: P-R-I-C-K

She grew up with Campbell. She lived around the block from his dad's house and went to school with him. He was 2 years older, but he was like a big brother for her. For this case, she has refused to talk with police or DA investigators. She only talked to the defense. She can't remember a lot of things, because she was in a car accident last year and has memory problems. (At least she didn't say she was in a motorcycle accident like the other 3 people did) She testified that Campbell was closer to her then anyone else. She tells her kids that Campbell is their uncle. She is very interested in this case, and even keeps a file with all the news paper articles. She tells her kids that their uncle is locked away for something he didn't do. She says a few days before the shooting she was with Campbell, Rodney, Kira McCuien, and herself. She probably was drinking that night, and they were probably smoking weed. She told investigators (all investigators would be for the defense) that all the guys "had guns". She never saw Campbell with a gun. She told Campbell and Rodney that you need to "shoot cops in the head" if you need to get away, this was a topic in a "criminal justice" class she was taking(i find that hard to believe). She found out Campbell was wanted a few days later, she was concerned for his safety and would never think he was guilty. She didn't remember if she got a phone call from Campbell after the shootings. She did sleep with Campbell while in high school. The Friday before the shooting at the apt. party she was interested in Rodney. She testified that she received a call from Campbell and he needed a ride. She didn't have a cell phone at the time, only a pager. She said she didn't have a car, but would call his brother Edwin. Phone records presented showed that her pager number was never called from Tyree's house, and that she never called Edwin. Then Campbell came by Kira's house for 5-10 mins. They talked, and Campbell left because the girls said they couldn't help him. He did seem scared and sad. In '05 she testified that Campbell looked exhausted, sad, and scared. She never got serious with Rodney. She knew Rodney was still talking to his baby's mama. She said Rodney confessed to the killing and told that to investigators in 2005. That confession could have been within 10 days of the shooting. She said it took place at a guy named Kenny's house, and it was in the afternoon, or evening, or late afternoon. After the confession she says she didn't see Rodney again. She previously testified that she saw him 1 or 2 more times. She only saw Rodney a total of 4 times (that was the length of their relationship). She heard him on the phone tell his baby mama what happened. She told investigators that she him say that they were driving and he got pulled over, and since he already had 2 strikes he shot the cop to not go to jail. Another story she testified to was that they were sitting in a car in the cul-de-sac and the officer pulled up and Rodney shot him. Another story was they were sitting in the mustang and were leaving the party with Jeff got shot. She once threatened to sue Lane. She called him a prick and spelled it out. Today all she did was agree with her previous testimony that he is a prick. She said Rodney was sitting in the same car as Campbell. (the defense said Rodney actually walked up and talked to Campbell then shot Jeff) She is scared of Rodney because he said he would kill her. She said of course she is scared because "you guys can't even keep him in jail" and that we are lucky she is testifying. She was found guilty of passing counterfeit money with her mother (fine upstanding lady, obviously trying to get the truth out). Even though she pleaded guilty it wasn't true that it happened. Just like "this isn't true what you are doing to Shawn". She was contacted by Det. Ramirez and didn't talk to him because she didn't want to get involved. (she has always wanted to be involved) She didn't feel like she HAD to talk to the police all she has to do "is live, die, stay black, and be her babies mama". The police scare her..... although if your best friend was innocent you would probably talk to police to help him out not continue a relationship with the guy that pulled the trigger "allegedly".

She will be back on the witness stand tomorrow and court starts tomorrow at 10am
