Day 13: People, please don't ride motorcycles!!

Today started with motions and the Defense continually crying that some rulings are going against them. Boohoo!!

Once the jury was seated, some of the preliminary trial transcripts for Robert Campbell Sr. were read into the record. This happened because Robert Campbell Sr. wouldn't testify for his son in this trial.
Peter Bianchi- Child services
He was on a case were Robert Campbell Sr. looked to modify his payments. Campbell Sr. was "totally disabled" at the time and couldn't work, yet he was found working at the YMCA as a karate teacher. Campbell Sr. showed up to this court case with a cane and walking like he was hurt. DEFENSE: Saw Campbell Sr. walk about 20 ft into the courtroom. Never talked to his doctors.
Nickolas Campbell- Little bro
He is Campbell's little brother. He was about 14 yrs old at the time of the incident. He was living with his uncle on Senter Rd. Only stayed with his father on Lochner occasionally. That weekend he stayed with his brother Robert Campbell Jr. his girlfriend Lorrie Nunez and their baby Tiana. He told the police he was picked up on Friday by R.C Jr. about 9pm. He tried to go home Saturday but no one was at his father's home, so he stayed with Campbell Jr. That night they went to a Halloween party (not that one, a family one "there were big people and small people"). On Sunday morning Campbell Jr. and Nunez left early in the morning. He said another friend was at their house and was watching Tiana. Later that morning a police officer came by the house and brought him and Tiana to the station for questioning( no Tiana wasn't questioned she was only 3). He saw Campbell on Friday but didn't see what car he was driving. DEFENSE: Others in the family drove the Hyundai, like DeShawn, Robert Jr., and Edwin. No one in the past 7 years has showed him his police report.
Edwin Campbell- Big bro
He was in Seaside during that weekend. He was visiting his girlfriend, Christina Gomez. He was using a phone at that time that was registered to Analisa Gomez (Christina's mom). Police ended up taking that phone. The phone calls he received calls from a phone registered to Noc Rud, she attended a karate school with them. She was seeing Robert Campbell Sr. at the time. He heard from his dad between 3-5am. Calls came in from 2:26am, 4:41am, 5:08am, 5:09am. They maybe spoke once during those calls. Edwin drove a Thunderbird in 2001, and he didn't drive the Hyundai. He also said that DeShawn didn't drive the Hyundai either(taking a lie one step too far). He didn't think that it was an emergency when he talked to his father, even though he drove home from Seaside at 5am. He did tell police "it was an emergency". When he got home he saw his father getting choked by at least 3 officers and Robert Jr. handcuffed on the sidewalk. In his 2002 testimony at the preliminary trial he said " when i drove up i saw Robert Jr. handcuffed but couldn't see my father when he drove up". DEFENSE: No questions.
He acted like a child on the stand, popping his lips after answering questions.
Robert Campbell Jr.- Big bro
Lived in Santa Clara at the time. Lorrie Nunez is his girlfriend, and they have a baby Tiana together. Went to Halloween party the night of the 27th. Lorrie had a Camry at that time, but he also drove his dad's cars including the Hyundi. He thinks Campbell showed up at his apt. on Friday in a black mustang with Rodney. He received a phone call early Sunday, but didn't remember what was said. First call came in at 4:38am from R.C Sr. to Lorrie's phone. He points out 2 years ago he was in a motorcycle accident and lost some of his memory along with a toe. He didn't remember anything for the next 30 mins.

He will be back on the stand tomorrow morning.
