Richard Judkins - party goer
He was at the party on Rotterdam. He was friends with Kenny & Keith who threw the party. They are about 6'5 270lbs. He got there around 10pm, and there were about 30 people at the party. He then left to pick up someone else, and got back around 12am, now there were about 80 people. It was a mostly African-American party. There was a few guys wearing baby blue. One of them was called "legally insane", he was about 6'2 220. A fight broke out by the keg in the backyard. The person who started the fight was also in baby blue. This person was as big as Kenny. Richard then heard some "popping" sounds. Richard isn't experienced with guns, but he heard a small bang. Then Kenny came out and got into a fight with the guy in baby blue. Again, Richard heard "pops". Kenny's sister then started to yell at people to leave. Kenny went into the house and then went out front with a gun in his hand. Kenny yelled "I got something for you" and started to shoot about 4-5 times. This gun was louder then the one in the backyard. Kenny was shooting at the guys in baby blue. The guys in baby blue jumped into a dark mustang. Richard heard cars hitting each other. Richard was watching and hiding behind a car during this altercation. Richard said the DJ came out front and started to shoot too. The person in baby blue was also wearing a bandanna. Richard was shown pictures by police, and ID'd Campbell at being in the party, he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. LANE: Richard did exaggerate some items to the police. The guy in baby blue looked like McNeary. McNeary is only 6'2 not 6'7, he is 190 lbs not 270 lbs, so he couldn't be the guy in the fight. The baby blue was actually baby blue and white, and was a North Carolina Tar Heel jacket and bandanna. The guys wearing baby blue were also throwing up gang signs and saying "east side". "Legally insane" was the big guy in the fight. During the first fight by the key, people started to yell "Ahmed got jumped" loud enough to hear over the music. Then Kenny came out to fight the guy, Richard thought Kenny got shot. Kenny said " I can't believe they tried to pull out at my party" and was holding his stomach. Richard also thought someone else got shot and was carried away. Richard was able to get from the backyard to the front by walking on the side of the house, and the fence was knocked down at that time. Richard thought Kenny was shooting at an older type car with gray primer. Richard regrets having exaggerated his story to police. He ID'd Campbell wearing a gray sweatshirt. He ID'd Turo Colllins as a person smoking a blunt with Campbell. Campbell was in the fight. DEFENSE: Richard didn't exaggerate about Kenny having a gun. Doesn't know who was wearing the North Carolina outfit.
Sgt. Davis - SJPD
Assigned to V-CET. Interviewed witnesses and then went to investigate the owner of a black mustang. That person was listed as Janielle Carter. He showed up in uniform and in a patrol car. He arrived at the apt complex at 10am with other officers. His Sergeant made contact with Janielle and they went up to her apartment and searched it with her permisson. She told them that her car was parked in a guest spot downstairs. She left her car the night before around 10:30pm. She got calls during the night. She walked down and said her car must have been stolen and that she must have left her keys in her door. The officers took a stolen car report. She said that a few people just moved out of her apt., and that her baby's papa didn't live there but would show up. That person is Rodney McNeary. There was "indicia of occupancy" for McNeary at that address. Sgt. Davis documented Janielle's caller ID log. He took down 13 calls that occurred on Oct. 28, 2001. The times were not always correct and some names were very suspicious. She didn't recognize calls 1,3,5,7,8,11,12,13. CALLS:

Around 4-5am she talked to a male friend but didn't give up his name to investigators. She said she knew Campbell from a friend at work, and last saw him about a month ago. He answered the phone while in her apt., it was a male asking for McNeary. Sgt. Davis transported Janielle to the police department for an interview. Janielle was cited and released for the false police report on Nov. 1st. During her pre-processing she said that McNeary took the car, and she lied because she didn't know what her boyfriend was involved in. She said her boyfriend took the car around 8pm. LANE: Janielle consented to the search of her apt. The caller ID wasn't totally accurate. The caller ID didn't list 6 calls from Tyree Washington that morning. Janielle was released on Nov. 1 at 8:45pm. DEFENSE: It was a citation to appear in court, he didn't know if she did.
Ofc. Le - SJPD
Part of V-CET. Also went to Janielle's apt. that morning. She was contacted by the garbage cans at her apt. He actually took the Vehicle theft report. She was cooperative, she told the story of the missing car then signed the form. She stated the mustang had no damage, and that she didn't allow anyone else to drive the car. LANE: No questions.
Sgt. Ponti- SJPD
Interviewed Janielle at the police station. He was briefed by other officers. The interview was about the mustang. <> That part was from the middle of the 45 min interview. <> That part was from the end of the interview. She stated she was the only one to drive the car. Sgt. Edwards then came in and started his interview with Janielle. The interview basically said her story of the mustang that she had no clue what happened to it. LANE: The interview was at 1:30 pm. It was a preliminary interview. DEFENSE: It was a 45 minute interview. It is a little more in depth then interview out on the street. LANE: The detectives wait till most information comes out to do final interviews. DEFENSE: Sometimes the person won't give up any information. Preliminary interviews are still trying to get facts out.
Ofc. Garcia - SJPD
Was a homicide detective at that time. Showed up to scene and was briefed by a Lieutenant. Told the mustang was out of place. He called CSI to investigate the mustang. They found documents for Janielle Carter, her mom, Rodney McNeary, and other registered owner. The damage was documented by Ofc. Garcia. LANE: He first observed the mustang around 8am. CSI was responsible for analysis of the mustang.
Sgt. St. Amour- SJPD
He was the Sgt. of the V-CET unit. He went to Janielle's house with the other V-CET officers. Janielle was carrying bags of trash when he encountered him. They then went into her apt. He didn't investigate the trash. LANE: Couldn't tell when damage to mustang occurred. His report said Janielle didn't dump her trash. He doesn't have exact recollection if she dumped her bag or not. DEFENSE: His report didn't say she carried the bag of trash back up to the apt. LANE: She gave permission to search her apt. DEFENSE: He eventually told her it was important for her to tell the truth because her car was found at the crime scene. JUROR: How close was Janielle to the dumpster? She got within 10ft. What kind of bag? It was a brown grocery bag.
That's all for today. Back tomorrow at 9am.

This "evidence" is all very confusing. All the finger pointing and lies. I hope all this gets straightened out so Jeffrey can at last have some justice. People like the ones involved in this sordid story make me glad I live in the country and associate with normal, hard-working, drug-free people. It's hard to imagine living in a situation like what spawned such a trajedy! My prayers are that this trial will sort through all the details and finally reach the true facts of the matter.
ReplyDeleteA friend in Texas.
It's really too bad that people find it hard to believe anyone else but Deshawn could have done this. I think further investigation into Rodney's background would prove helpful. Why hasn't Kenny, Keith or "Legally Insane"(through and internet search I found his real name been called to testify as to what happened at the party. They could say who or how many people were in the car when it speed away...THEY KNOW!
ReplyDeleteEveryone knows Rodney's background, he is a bad guy. Those people at the party wouldn't have anything to testify about. The shooting happened 2-3 hrs after they left the party. In the car was Campbell, RayRay, and Rodney.
