May we, those who knew much yet said little, be ashamed for the pain we could have prevented you and your family. Congradulations on your day of justice. May Jeffrey rest in peace.
I knew your brother from when I kept my horses at your dad's place. Your aunt led me to this site and has kept me - in a roundabout way - updated on the events. I haven't had a chance (nor really the state of mind) to read this blog from its inception. And while this case is really far from over (with all the appeals that will take place), I do hope this first round of 'Guilty' brings some relief to your family, especially your dad.
I remember the events of the morning I learned of Jeff's shooting -- while getting ready for work and listening to the KGO. About 3 phone calls later, I received the confirmation I didn't want to get. (I had moved to Elk Grove about 1-1/2 years earlier.) I thank your grandmother for giving me the information on his memorial service. And literally, not a day goes by that I don't think of fond memories of Jeff.
Thank you for using your catharis to keep us posted. Please continue to do so.
YESSS!!! God Bless the jury that did the right thing. While this will not bring Officer Fontana back,it will give his family, friends, coworkers some peace and closure. I am so relieved there are average citizens left in the world that have common sense, morals and values. I am elated that this cold blooded being with less scruples than an animal, is off the street for good. God Bless Jeff and all officers everywhere.
Amen! I wish he would have gotten a death sentence, but this is stil a sweet victory. He can appeal all he wants, he will spend the rest of his life in a prision (where he deserves to be) and not a Co Jain. He will be so far from his family, that in time they will no longer go see him, or write him. He will slowly die inside from loss of his family. I know his pain will never be as harsh like the pain you and your family have felt and will always feel. He will suffer and rot in a cell. I hope he has fear every day of what will happen to him next or who will attack him. I also hope someone messes up and puts him in the blood side of the jail and not the crip. Sorry, just how I feel. Hard to forget what he has done when it has been relived for the last 8 years because of his lies. Lord forgive me for my hateful words towards this coward. He deserves to suffer for his sins
Thank God the jury saw the truth through the lies that were told for so many weeks. Now Jeff can finally rest. I went by the park last night and I know Jeff would be proud of what has happened. Justice was finally served!!
where is the park that was named after Officer Jeff Fontana? I would like to visit it. God bless everybody this case affected. Glad Fontana's family is feeling some sort of relief.
I did not know Jeffrey however I have heard so many great things about him. I have followed this case, thank you for your daily updates, and I am glad JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED. God Bless your family and may he REST IN PEACE!
Campbell will rot in hell one day. For the Fontana family, I am so thankful that this nightmare is over. Although you will never forget this tragedy, I am glad that you all will be able to move forward and not have the weight of this trial riding on your shoulders. RIP Jeff - and thank you to Jeff and all officers for the sacrifices you make every day to protect your communities!
The City of San Jose park named in Jeffery Fontana's memory is located on McAbee Road at Golden Oak Way (& runs between Meridian Avenue and Almaden Expressway).
